![]() Dear CHS Chorus Family, As the newest CHS Unified Arts Faculty member, I want to be among the first to welcome you to the 2019-2020 Academic School Year! I come to you with over 20 years of experience as a chorus singer turned choral director. This year at Cumberland High School I will directing the Concert Chorus, Clef Singers, as well as teaching Piano Class and Theory Class. This is going to be a great year, and I am excited about making music at CHS! Wonderful plans are in the works for the Cumberland High School Chorus and Clef Singers. We will be performing a wide variety of choral literature this year, including music from the Medieval period through the twenty first century, and from many different countries and cultures. I’m very excited for our Wednesday evening rehearsals which begin on September 4th. The rehearsal schedule is available on the website, and a hard-copy will go home the first week of classes. Please make sure the dates and times are marked on your calendars! During the first week of school, please feel free to stop in and say hello! Open and frequent communication between students, parents and the director will benefit our chorus program so much. I check my email several times per day, and this is by far the easiest way to reach me. (Much quicker than leaving a voicemail!) Updates and information will be sent out via email, so please make sure you return the “Chorus Student Information” form that will come home during the first week of school. I’m so looking forward to meeting you all, and to an amazing year of great music, working hard, and a lot of fun! Musically. ♫ Mrs. Santo
